I've booked my Cape Charles vacation rental. What's next?

So you've booked your Cape Charles vacation rental. Congrats! As word continues to spread about this incredible little town on the Eastern Shore, vacation rental bookings are becoming more competitive — and those who wait too long to book may miss out entirely!

Now you just have to sit back and impatiently wait until your trip, right? Not quite. If you want to plan a truly epic trip to Cape Charles, you may want to consider a few more options. Here's what we recommend.

1. Book a golf cart.

Golf carts are the preferred mode of transportation in Cape Charles, and a truly fun and memorable way to get around. Because they are so popular, the local places often completely sell out of rentals well in advance of the busiest summer months. If you're visiting in the summer, book your cart as soon as you can. Where to rent a golf cart in Cape Charles: Eastern Shore Custom Carts and C.C. Ryder Rentals are your two options.

2. Book a photo shoot.

If you're visiting Cape Charles with family, as most people are, this is a great opportunity to plan a family photo shoot on the beach. Professional photos make a thoughtful gift for moms, grandmothers, etc., and they're the perfect memento of your visit. We always send guests to Rachel at Bayside Studios.

3. Arrange an Eastern Shore boat tour.

Whether you like to fish or you just want to explore the Eastern Shore's barrier islands, you should definitely make time to get out on the water while you're in Cape Charles. There are a number of boat tour companies to choose from in Cape Charles, including Eastern Shore Boat Tours and Broadwater Bay Ecotours. For something a bit different, the owners of Barrier Islands Salt Co. will take you on a culinary boat tour to demonstrate their salt-making process.

4. Book a kayak tour.

Southeast Expeditions not only hosts kayak tours of the area (like the ESVA National Wildlife Preserve and Chatham Vineyards) but they'll also rent and deliver kayaks (plus stand-up paddleboards and bikes!) right to your door.

5. Order your groceries.

Our one grocery store in town can get pretty crowded in the summer months. Avoid the long lines by ordering your groceries for pickup at Food Lion, and swing by on your way in to town.

6. Order a cake.

Celebrating a special occasion while you're in town? Be sure to order a custom cake from Coastal Baking Co. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, or just because, a special cake signals that it's party time.

Taking the time to plan out your Cape Charles itinerary will ensure a fun-filled, unforgettable trip to the Shore. If you're a guest of Cape Charles Escapes, our team is always available to help you arrange anything you need. Email us anytime.
